Anna Milkowski battled Rebecca Wellons for most of the race until Milkowski's power got her the lead for good. It's was a great race for both of them and Anna's first Verge Win.
In the Men's race, tres amigos Tim Johnson, Jeremy Powers, and Jesse Anthony duked it out. As training partners they were well aware of each other's tactics and strengths. With about a lap and a half to go, Tim Johson finally was dropped, leaving Anthony and Powers to concentrate on each other. On the final steep climb of the day, Jeremy rode the entire hill while Jesse had to get off and push his bike. The result was that Jeremy opened ten bikes lengths on Jesse and went on to victory. |
