:: We were told that the only place to eat in Douglas was the Gadsden Hotel.  This place opened before Arizona became a state.  Many movies have been filmed in the hotel lobby.  It was also featured in "The Life and Times of Judge Roy Bean".

The 14k gold leaf at the top of each column cost $20,000 back in 1929! 

In 1976 the Gadsden was proclaimed a National Historic Monument.

The turkey dinner they served wasn't bad either ::
