|The Charles River Wheelmen invite you to join us for this scenic and challenging ride. We will again be using a route that touches three states; Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Connecticut. The outbound route is 110 miles and the return is 90 miles.
5:00 AM Sharp (Sunrise)
Nahanton Park, Newton, Massachusetts.
This is not an easy ride. You should be capable of riding a century in less than 7 hours. Climbing is approximately 12,800 feet. Mandatory turnaround time is 12:30 PM.
This is mostly a self-supported ride. You should plan to carry any lights, rain gear, or extra clothes you may need. We have six scheduled stops that include water and snacks. Refreshments are available at the finish, courtesy of the CRW.
Petersham Country Store (good sandwiches). Usually we sit on the quaint town green to eat lunch.
New Riders: $100. Your entire entry fee will be refunded to you at the start of the ride. We will use funds from no-shows to cover event expenses.
Veteran Riders: No entry fee for 2006 Ride.
We travel southwest through Dover, Medfield, Uxbridge, Northwest RI, Northeast CT; then north to Paxton, Barre, and into Petersham. The return route stays in Massachusetts.
We are limiting this ride to the first 60 riders who register online.
Will be available in a pdf format one week before the event.
From Rt. 95/128 take exit 19B (Highland Ave.) toward Needham. Go left at the first light onto Hunting Rd. At the next light make another left onto Kendrick St. The park is on your left immediately AFTER crossing the river.
